Remembrance Day

A service to commemorate Remembrance Day was held earlier in November in the School gymnasium. Our students and staff paid our respects to the fallen heroes of our Defense Forces and gave thanks to the many men and women still on active duty around the world. The importance of remembering how fortunate we are to live in Australia is not lost on our students. No doubt there are times when we forget but during and after our service, the element of thinking of others was certainly at the forefront of their minds. A big thank you to Ms Sarah Kay for organising the ceremony and to the wonderful vocal group who really added to the ambience of the service.

Stage 2 Examinations

Congratulations to all students who completed their Stage 2 examinations. We were very proud of the effort all the students showed during the 2-week examination period. There were of course many smiles on the final Friday as students completed the final exam, Geography. We await now the final SACE results which will be released on Monday 18 December.

SACE Art, Design and Technologies Show

On Thursday 13 November, the SACE Art, Design and Technologies show opened in the Worthley Foyer and the Michael Murray Centre for Performing Arts. For my very first Art and Technologies show, I was very impressed with the variety and complexity of the works on display. I was also treated to my very first student fashion show, which I greatly enjoyed. The time and skill required to produce some of the items once again was impressive. I am always amazed at how students are able to interpret, manipulate, create and present such a diverse range of pieces. Students in Years 10-12 have certainly been busy and choosing awards was particularly difficult. Congratulations to all of the award winners for 2023. Our dancers too were not to be outdone as they also performed last week, with a combination evening of music and dance. Again, congratulations to all of our performers.
