A Uniting Church coeducational independent day and boarding school on Kaurna Country, Adelaide, South Australia
Early Learning to Year 12
While the weather is still holding on and probably more suited to Summer pursuits, we have recently sent a team of our best runners to represent Westminster at the SAPSASA District Cross Country trials. This event was a championship event and also a trial for the South West District SAPSASA Cross Country team to compete at the State Championships on Thursday 8 June 2023 at Oakbank racecourse. Students have been selected based on the 1500m race at Sports and 800m times in Term 1 PE lessons.
Congratulations to the following students who took part and represented us so well:
Below are our runners who finished in the first 10 in their age group.
This year’s National Reconciliation Week theme is Be a voice for generations: act today for a reconciled tomorrow. National Reconciliation Week is a time for all Australia to learn about our shared histories, cultures and achievements, and to further our understanding of how each of us can contribute to achieving reconciliation in Australia.
As part of our National Reconciliation Week this year, on Friday 2 June we are encouraging all students to take part in a yellow-themed casual dress day to raise funds for a First Nations organisation, Children’s Ground. As part of ‘Wear It Yellow Day’, students will engage with National Reconciliation Week learning materials and have vibrant discussions about First Nations culture and history. More information to follow.
Families who seek to access our very comprehensive Vacation Care program during the upcoming holidays will want to take note that the opportunity to enrol your child will open on Monday of Week 6 (29 May).
Looking even further ahead, Vacation Care over the summer holidays will be available all through the summer break, except for the closure period. This will be from Monday 18 December 2023 to reopen on Monday 8 January 2024.
While we have been enjoying a spate of beautiful weather, the approaching cooler days are unavoidable. As of 15 May, all students should be in Winter Uniform on days when their class doesn’t have sport. The Westminster Shop is open each day except Wednesday (see opening times below). If you need any items, please contact the Shop. You can also purchase uniform via the QKr! App and it will be delivered into class the following day.
