Duke of Edinburgh’s International Award Expeditions for Years 9 to 12
Due to the lifting and easing of restrictions the Outdoor Education program is back!
The following expeditions are available during Terms 2, 3 and 4. Information packs can collected from the OED office, on Inspire at Play @ West Outdoor Education or follow the link for each trip.

- Saturday 6 to Monday 8 June - Three-day bushwalk in Mt Remarkable; this trip is now full.
- Monday 22 to Tuesday 30 June - Four-day bushwalk in the scenic and rugged Edeowie Gorge near Wilpena Pound in the Flinders Ranges; suitable for all levels; this trip is now full.
- Friday 14 to Sunday 16 August - Three-day introduction to mountain bike riding on established bike trails in the Adelaide Hills; suitable for Bronze or Silver students.
- Saturday 5 - Monday 7 September - Three-day introduction to rockclimbing conducted in the Adelaide Hills and local indoor venues; suitable for Bronze and Silver students.
- Friday 25 to Tuesday 29 September - Four days of rockclimbing at the world famous Mt Arapiles in Victoria; suitable for Bronze to Gold students with prior rockclimbing experience.
- Friday 25 to Tuesday 29 September - Four days of bushwalking and snorkelling at Innes NP along the world famous Coastline; suitable for Bronze to Gold students.
- Sunday 25 to Tuesday 27 October - Three days of kayaking on Katarapko Creek between Berri and Loxton.
- Friday 4 to Wednesday 16 December - New Zealand Multi-Activity Expedition. 34 spots taken, 2 left; dependent on Trans-Tasman Travel Bubble.
Please note that due to the current state border travel restrictions, the Telemark cross-country ski trip near Falls Creek planned for July is unlikely to go ahead.
Years 8/9 Duke of Edinburgh’s International Award
If students wish to join the Duke of Edinburgh’s International Award and participate in expeditions, they need to register and set up an ORB (Online Record Book).
Information and Links follow. Normally we would have over 60% of the year cohort involved in this exciting and rewarding program.
Some students are completing the Mt Remarkable Bushwalk this long weekend. Other opportunities are available in Term 3 from the list above.
