Due to the lifting and easing of restrictions the Outdoor Education program is back!
The following expeditions are available during Terms 2, 3 and 4. Information packs can collected from the OED office, on Inspire at Play @ West Outdoor Education or follow the link for each trip.
If students wish to join the Duke of Edinburgh’s International Award and participate in expeditions, they need to register and set up an ORB (Online Record Book).
Information and Links follow. Normally we would have over 60% of the year cohort involved in this exciting and rewarding program.
All Year 9 students are now completing a free-choice expedition to replace the postponed Term 2, Year 9 Camp.
Information about the Award can be viewed here: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=dX09zAStCGg

During Week 9 and 10 of Term 2, nearly 100 Year 11/12 Outdoor Education and Duke of Edinburgh's International Award students were involved in adventurous journeys due to the easing of restrictions.
Year 11 students completed climbing at Onkaparinga Gorge and Surf Kayaking at Moana.
Year 12 students had the option of Bushwalking in Innes National Park or Sea Kayaking along the South Coast between Cape Jervis and Myponga Beach.
Duke of Ed students completed a challenging and awe-inspiring bushwalk in the rugged and remote Edeowie Gorge in the Wilpena Pound region.
Another small group of Year 12 Outdoor Ed students completed a circumnavigation of an offshore Wardang Island near Port Victoria. Exciting adventures.
The postponed Year 7 and 8 Camps for Term 2 have been rescheduled and modified to occur during Term 3.
Year 7 students will have a two-day camp completing walking, climbing and high rope activities and experience an introduction to camp craft and successful group work in teams.
Year 8 students will undertake the Westminster Challenge activities at Mylor and experience the outdoor delights of bushwalking and climbing in the revamped Onkaparinga Gorge.
