A Uniting Church coeducational independent day and boarding school on Kaurna Country, Adelaide, South Australia
Early Learning to Year 12
Last Saturday, FOW assisted with the COVID-compliant catering at the Intercol and we are truly thankful that the weather stayed our friend during the day. On behalf of the FOW committee, a massive thank you to all of our volunteers who assisted with set-up and pack-up, cooking the BBQ and looking after the FOW van during the course of the day. We ordered 1000 sausages (thank you Westminster parent Luke Sincock of Blackwood Butchers) and ended up with only a handful of cooked snags. The Friends of Westminster draws together its member groups, such as Parents’ Club, Boarder Parents’ Association, Friends of Music, as well as Old Scholars, parents and staff members, to assist with these big community events. We also organised cocktail donuts in Westminster and Pembroke colours. By the end of the day they too had all gone (even if the last round was as a well-earned giveaway to the students!).
From now until 1 September, anyone who purchases a Multi-City Membership will receive a $40 eGift Card or when they purchase a Single City they receive a $20 eGift Card from Woolworths, Freedom Furniture or Big W. There are also other fantastic prizes and give-aways for Members.
The price of a single city book is $69.99 and then, on top of this, you receive a $20.00 voucher. In addition, every book purchased through Westminster’s link helps the Friends of Westminster with their fundraising effort (thank you!). Please see this Entertainment Book flyer for additional information, including how to purchase.
A quick update re the Fun Fair. It has been agreed with a degree of sadness that there will again be no Fun Fair in 2022. By this time of year, our planning would already be well underway for the following year but with COVID-19 still at the forefront of our thinking, we don’t anticipate we will still be in a position to hold such an event. Consequently, the Fun Fair committee is working through a plan to manage the many donations we have received. While we have always gratefully received your donations for our various stalls, we advise that for now we are seeking no further donations and our sheds are closed. I thank the Fun Fair committee for taking on board the significant task of working through the best way to approach what we are currently storing. Some items will end up being disposed of (eg broken, deteriorated, damaged) but in our flowchart, we are looking at all options to determine suitability of goods for reuse before we reach that point of no return. If there is no Fun Fair planned, we’ll be working with the School on the possibility of another community event to take its place, perhaps along the lines of WestFest. Stay tuned!

As all who had booked for the ‘Diamonds are Forever’ Ball would know, our 60th Anniversary event has been postponed to Saturday 30 October 2021. Fortunately, all involved with the Ball program can make the new date. We are hoping that any COVID health restrictions in place at that time will allow us to enjoy the social aspects of eating, drinking and dancing. The link has now been updated to reflect Saturday 30 October and bookings are continuing through the original link: www.trybooking.com/BPPQH
