Parents’ Club

The Westminster School 60^th Anniversary ‘Diamonds are Forever’ Ball is scheduled for Saturday 28 August and we thank everyone who has bought tickets to attend this spectacular event. The Parents’ Club has done an amazing amount of work to make this a night to remember but current restrictions may mean they are unable to deliver the event as envisioned. Consequently, the Parents’ Club is working closely with the Convention Centre to see if and how this event can proceed.

For now, it is possible to hold the event but some of the ongoing restrictions are causing concern, particularly the ban on dancing. If some of these restrictions remain unchanged by mid-next week, it is highly likely the Ball will be postponed to a date later in the year. The Parents’ Club is on high alert so please stay tuned for an update later next week.

Fun Fair

As it is now almost certain that there will be no ‘traditional’ Fun Fair in 2022, the Friends of Westminster Fun Fair committee will be making some tough decisions in the coming weeks about the donated stock that is currently being held at FOW House. Due to short-term storage becoming much longer-term, some of the ‘bric-a-brac’ gear has deteriorated and needs to be disposed of. However, before reaching the point of no return, the committee is looking at various avenues to see whether better quality items can be put to good use.

As you can imagine, the committee is devastated to have to share this news as the Fun Fair has been a significant fundraiser for the Friends of Westminster. It has always relied on our wonderful community’s support via attendance and donated goods. The Fun Fair committee thanks everyone who has given anything towards the Fun Fair and encourages you to support other events offered by the community groups.
