Dog Policy - Edition 6 - 2019

You may have noticed some new signs that were erected over the holidays to provide guidance as to when dogs can be brought into the School grounds. This has come about due to some reported incidences that involved student safety and dogs being brought to School. The key point to the guideline is that families and visitors are asked not to walk (or run) their dogs on campus during school days between 8.00 am and 4.00 pm. Outside of these hours on school days, dogs must always be under effective control to include a restraining leash for sporting or community events. Effective control can extend to verbal or non-verbal command when students are not present (eg outside of sport on weekend, school and public holidays) and therefore the grounds are typically much quieter. All dog owners are asked to clean up after their dogs and this remains unchanged. If you need to bring your dog to School during school days between 8.00 am to 4.00 pm, you are asked to keep your dog safely within your vehicle. The exceptions to the guideline are assistance and service dogs. We thank you for your cooperation. The full guideline can be downloaded for your reference.
