Music Notes

Congratulations to Luke Moriarty (Year 9 Carter), Eden Moriarty (Year 6 Charter) and Eva Bratkovic (Year 9 Dunstan) who were accepted into State Music Camp for July this year. This is an auditioned process so it's wonderful to see three Westminster students having passed their audition.

Music Performances

During week 7 this term the Music Department will be holding two performances involving a number of ensembles. Details for both performances are below.

Winter Band Night

Tuesday 14 June, 6.30 pm, Michael Murray Centre

Our Winter Band Night will be held in the MMC starting at 6.30 pm. It will involve the following ensembles:

• Senior Concert Band
• Intermediate Concert Band
• Prep Concert Band
• Big Bands 1, 2 and 3
• Senior Orchestra
• Percussion Ensemble
• Senior Jazz Combo

Due to the cancellation of our Autumn Concert, we have decided to run an abridged version to give all of the students involved an opportunity to perform. Some are also involved in Stage 2 ensemble performance so this will form a part of their assessment.

Sing, Sing, Sing

Wednesday 15 June, 6.30 pm, Michael Murray Centre

Sing Sing Sing will also be held in the MMC and will involve all the choirs in the school. Details about uniform and sound checks will be forthcoming.

Our students have been somewhat starved of performance so we are really looking forward to performing on these two occasions. Both events will run for anywhere between 70-90 minutes. The Westminster community are warmly invited to attend both concerts.
