On Friday 3 May our Big Bands and Jazz Ensemble will head down to Mt Gambier for the annual Generations in Jazz weekend, the National Big Band and Vocal Jazz competitions.
Big Band 1 have been invited to perform on the Friday on the main street in Mt Gambier outside the James Morrison Academy (JMA). Competitions will commence on Saturday and run all day. We wish our bands well in their preparations for this event.
Wednesday 1 May at The Gov
As a lead up to Generations in Jazz we will hold our annual Jazz Night at the Governor Hindmarsh Hotel on Wednesday 1 May. The events starts at 7.00 pm, but the Small Jazz Ensemble will play from 6.30 pm. We also have some special guests performing this year.
Tickets are available from the Music Office or at the door - Adults $10 and Concession $5. Please come along and support the students in the ensembles.
Thursday 16 May at Latvian Hall Wayville
We warmly invite the Westminster community to our Autumn Gala event. This year we are running a cabaret night with performances by the Senior Concert Band, Big Bands, Prep Concert Band, Senior Orchestra, Jazz Ensemble and Rock Bands. It will be held at the Latvian Hall, 4 Clark Street, Wayville, beginning at 7.00 pm. There are full bar facilities available.
This will be the first performance for many of our bands and we are looking forward to presenting this to you in a relaxed, cabaret style format. Tickets are available at www.trybooking.com/BBVQS
