Westminster will always rely on support from the people in its community in order to advance and excel. School fees cover a major portion of the cost of education but donations, through the Westminster Foundation, enable us to offer the best possible programs and facilities.
Donations to our scholarship endowment give some of our most talented and disadvantaged students access to a great Westminster education, by helping to fund their tuition. Scholarships cost the School more than $700,000 each year; our goal is to fully endow every Scholarship to guarantee the future of this vital program in perpetuity. Donors can support a scholarship to reflect their own interests: academic distinction, all-round excellence, talent in the performing arts, or for Indigenous or Refugee students, among others. We also invite support for professional research fellowships for our teachers, for prizes and awards for students in both the Prep and Senior Schools, and gifts made in memoriam. Donations to the Westminster Foundation Education Fund for open scholarships are tax deductible.
Westminster is renowned for its expansive grounds and outstanding facilities, many of which were built with the help of donations from the community, through the Foundation. Westminster has ambitious goals to continually improve the physical learning environment for its students. It has been through the generous donations to the Science fund, that the School was able to launch the Campus Masterplan, specifically the Innovation and Inquiry hub. Next year we will be focusing on the community spaces within our Campus Masterplan.
Gifts to the Library Fund are tax deductible and go directly towards the purchase of books and other learning resources for our two School Libraries. The Prep School’s Haslam Library adds hundreds of new books to its collection each year thanks largely to donations from guests on Grandparents’ & VIPs’ Day.
We also welcome gifts-in-kind, event sponsorship, and participating in fundraising activities such as the biennial Westminster Ball and Long Lunch.
