PRINCIPAL’S WELCOME
Welcome to Westminster School, Adelaide.
Westminster is a Uniting Church, coeducational, Early Learning Centre (Pre-school) to Year 12, day and boarding school, set in 23 hectares of grounds in Marion, a south-western suburb of Adelaide. About 1,230 students attend our School.
Our School is a welcoming community. Each individual is valued and included in the life of the School. We seek to provide opportunities to enable all students to grow into well balanced young adults with a love of learning. Regardless of their particular area of strength or interest we plan to provide a facility, an enthusiastic teacher, a program and an overall positive culture of achievement which allows them to pursue that passion to their fullest potential. This helps give them a direction for life after school, not only in careers and tertiary courses, but also in their confidence and self esteem socially, in interests, hobbies and travel.
Westminster has a well developed curriculum across all subject areas and year levels which is continually being improved to ensure all students are fully engaged throughout their school life. There are many highlights of our extra-curricular program as well, from 140 sporting teams to music, dance, drama, design, agriculture, outdoor education and IT. There is always something happening after hours either in our 1000 seat Theatre, Sports and Swimming Centre or somewhere on the grounds.
Whilst our website can give an overview of the School, the true essence and atmosphere can only be experienced by visiting the campus on a normal school day. You will be able to observe first hand our student wellbeing program, which is built on inclusion and appreciating differences in others and does not accept bullying, harassment or exclusion. This leads to a place where students develop their resilience, character and integrity.
Whatever your connection with Westminster School, we warmly welcome your interest and encourage you to visit our School.
