Performances

There are many opportunities for students to perform, at and outside School. These have included the Duke of Edinburgh’s Award ceremony at Government House, Seniors’ Concert and community functions. Performances each year include Music Night, at which curricular and co-curricular music groups and individuals perform, and a winter concert, at which Preparatory and Senior School curricular and co-curricular music and/or Band groups and soloists perform. Musicals are propular and different year levels perform a production, either annually or biennially, in the Michael Murray Centre for Performing Arts. In addition, many visiting musical ensembles, dancers and actors perform for the students. Recent special guest performers include Don Burrows, Kevin Hunt, James Morrison, Glenn Shorrock, Brian Cadd, Carl Riseley and Kate Ceberano.

Drama and Dance Performances

Opportunities are provided for students to perform on the stage of the Michael Murray Centre for Performing Arts in music, drama and dance. The musicals encompass different year levels and usually include a dance segment and provide further opportunities for students to hone their skills.

SACE 1 and 2 Drama and Dance require the students are provided with opportunities to perform. Therefore there are public dance and drama presentations  at student assemblies, for parent groups and the wider community throughout the year, with a final moderation performance at the end of each year.

Warts

WARTS stands for Westminster Aged Repertory and Theatrical Society. Since 1997, WARTS has put on a stage production in the Michael Murray Centre for Performing Arts. All current and past parents, current and past staff, and Old Scholars (and friends of all the preceding) are welcome to join. The rehearsals and performance are a lot of fun and offer an opportunity to meet members of the School community in a relaxed atmosphere. Please contact the School if you would like to find out more.
