Annual Giving
In 2012 your Annual Giving donations will help to complete the new Boys’ Building Precinct. The boys are so excited about the new facility. The current boarding House was built in 1960 so they can’t wait for big, bright rooms and ensuite bathrooms – in fact the bathrooms are one of the highlights that are mentioned anytime the Boarders get together to chat about their new home.
The spacious new facility with its light, bright interior will have a flexible floor space to allow for a variety of changes in future boarding requirements. Externally, solar panels will supply much of the energy and waste water will be recycled for plumbing; taking other environmental factors into consideration, the new Boarding House will have a 5 star green rating.
In addition we are building a recreation room which will allow the boys to gather with visitors and friends – the current facility has no space for socialising.
Boarders range in age from 13 – 18 years so many of their needs are very different but one common factor is to provide a warm, happy, safe ‘home’ as close to a family environment as possible. Boarders are a long way from home and family and cuddles – the new boarding house will be the best facility we can build to create those feelings. One of our boarders said ..”the best thing about boarding is having 55 of your best mates sleeping over” and we know the new boarding house will foster that attitude – your gift will make a difference in the lives of our young boarders.
Your Annual Giving donation will also assist the Prep students because, once the current Boarding house is empty, it will provide much needed space for the Prep School. The buildings will be upgraded to provide new class rooms, activity areas & junior primary space - the new Boarding Precinct will be of value to all students across the entire campus.
This building project is tax deductible - you simply make a gift to the Foundation Building Fund, it will be allocated to the boarding house and we will send you a receipt. If you do make a donation before June 30 this year, you will be able to include it in your deductions for this years’ tax return.
The Foundation is committed to raising $500,000 to assist with the completion of the facility and your gift to Annual Giving will bring us closer to achieving this target by the end of 2012. The building must be ready for the boys to move into at the beginning of the 2013 School year.
