Performances

There are many opportunities for students to perform, at and outside School, including the Duke of Edinburgh’s Award ceremony at Government House, Seniors’ Concert and community functions. Performances each year at Westminster include Showcase, at which curricular and co-curricular music groups and individuals perform, and the Winter Concert, at which Preparatory and Senior School curricular and co-curricular music and/or Band groups and soloists perform. Most years, at least one musical is presented in the Michael Murray Centre for Performing Arts. In addition, many visiting musical ensembles, dancers and actors perform for the students.

Drama and Dance Performances

Opportunities are provided for students to perform on the stage of the Michael Murray Centre for Performing Arts, in music, drama and dance. The musicals encompass different year levels and usually include a dance segment and provide further opportunities for students to hone their skills.

SACE 1 and 2 Drama and Dance require the students are provided with opportunities to perform. Therefore there are public dance and drama presentations  at student assemblies, for parent groups and the wider community throughout the year, with a final moderation performance at the end of each year.

Warts

WARTS stands for Westminster Aged Repertory and Theatrical Society. Each year parents and staff put on a stage production in the Michael Murray Centre for Performing Arts. All current and past parents, and staff, and Old Scholars (and friends) are welcome to join. The rehearsals and performance are a lot of fun and offer the opportunity to meet members of the School community in a relaxed atmosphere.
