Agriculture

Run through our on-site Sturt Grove Farm, our Agriculture program is offered as both a curricular or co-curricular option for Senior School students. Our Agriculture courses develop an awareness of everything involved in food production from paddock to plate. Students are involved in a variety of activities that aim to develop practical and intellectual skills. Agriculture studies allow students to develop life skills inside and outside the classroom through activities involving problem solving, team work and students developing their initiative and sense of responsibility.

Viticulture, horticulture, aquaculture, agronomy, rural business and livestock production (poultry, cattle, goats, alpacas and sheep) are all embedded within the curriculum. The students also have the opportunity to be involved in the co-curricular show teams which show cattle, goats, pigs, sheep, and eggs at the Royal Adelaide Show. Agriculture is offered from Year 9 as an elective through to a choice of two Year 12 subjects.
